Bloomin' heck is it that time already? Our calendar (and burgeoning Christmas beer-gut) tells us that we're through the first half of F12 and the we're into the new year already. We're still doing the numbers on the first half but can report we are right on track to achieve our target of $10m sales for this financial year. A huge thank you to all our amazing customers who have made the first half so much fun and from all of us here can promise much more of the same for 2012. BRING IT!

Perhaps a bit in advance of where we thought we'd be at this time, but we're now officially a NZ print business too. This means that early in the new year we will be offering our unique brand of print sales, fab pricing and unique software solutions to our friends over the ditch. It's quite exciting as we already have a handful of cross-Tasman customers, and in partnership with Webmart in the UK can now offer a unique solution to our customers who print in all of these regions. Watch this space for developments here in the new year!

We're spending a lot of time in China at the moment building new supply chains which will enable us to offer products at unheard of pricing and at super-fast turnaround to our customers in Australia and elsewhere. Can't say too much at the moment but volume sales means awesome discounts on shipping and the fastest turnaround print from the region available anywhere. Much as we loved our old office, the inability to swing a cat without knocking each other over was a bit of a drag. So we've moved to a new office in the same building where we can throw felines around to our hearts content. Just kidding, we've not thrown any of those fur-balls anywhere - so no need to report us to animal rights. Well, not for that anyway.

Finally an important new version of our estimating software. We've always been able to do some pretty cool things with our pricing tools but can today announce that we can now do even more. Our new pricing system enables us to have better access than ever before to more local print rates with more dynamically costed products (prices which reflect actual market rates rather than via our Virtual Pricing engine) than we've had to date. Our estimates look posher too. Give us an enquiry and we'll show you what we can do!

After an exhaustive search of the print market in Australia, we are delighted to announce a couple of new appointments to the Genii fold. Now that the foundations of the business are all in place, we are ready to start to show people what we can do. And one of the people charged with taking our awesomeness to the market is the one (the only) Luke Spindler who has a wealth of print knowledge behind him. Want someone to help you make the most out of your print spend? Drop him a line at luke@genii.net.au. He's an ever-so-nice-chap, but is 6'6". built like an ox and used to play rugby pretty seriously. You know the type - drinking 12 pints of beer through a sock before dressing up like girls in make-up and climbing up a flagpole or something. We will next week be announcing a couple of new recruits into our production management ranks which is also very exciting stuff. The average age at Genii is 29 years old, but we have an aggregative print experience of more than a century. We're delighted to announce we've found another Genite! She's lovely, she's talented, and she's working for us as our latest Production Manager. Meet Emma Kavanagh who will be taking over the production management of several of our new accounts in the very near future. We're delighted to have her on board to offer an extra level of customer service to our growing account list. If you're one of the lucky folks who will be working with her towards the end of the year you'll soon meet up. It's good to know you'll be in safe hands.

After several months of regionalising our software in conjunction with our friends in the UK (www.webmartuk.com) we're now live with the coolest print tools anywhere in the region. In conjunction with our distribution business we today announce that we have made it easier than ever to source work from the lower cost centres of Asia. We have an exclusive weekly trade route from Shenzhen via Hong Kong shortening the lead time for Chinese sourced printing by 3 days. With our overseas print partners we can now offer our domestic clients printing at even better rates and even faster than ever. We have moved into our new office space which will be ground-zero for us to shake up the print management industry here in Australia and soon New Zealand.
